Authoritarianism is Becoming Accepted
“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.”
Samuel Adams
Wherever one looks today, authoritarianism is becoming increasingly accepted, not because people unequivocally believe in an autocracy, but because they are hesitant, uncertain of their confidence – believing incapable of influencing change.
What can I do? I have no power! I cannot make a difference! Are the common phrases spoken by many, and so the disposition that they must accept authoritarianism by first yielding to propagandized public opinion and social media expectations, followed by full submission to the norms, customs, and influences of the misguided community, and finally, full acquiescence towards a dishonest and corrupt political leadership, evolves. The end result, the stagnation of the free flow of ideas and ideals between friends and neighbors intensifies, while the fire of liberty within the hearts of the People darkens; the commencement of inaction, stifling inspiration, creativity, and courage, will be the final chapter of a free People.
To the People, do not be apprehensive, or let your liberties be muzzled by any pretense of civility, charm, or decency, for today they are often used to misrepresent the true intensions of authoritarians who seek to hide hypocrisy, deception, and weakness.
“Human nature itself is evermore an advocate for liberty. There is also in human nature a resentment of injury, and indignation against wrong. A love of truth and a veneration of virtue. These amiable passions, are the “latent spark”… If the people are capable of understanding, seeing, and feeling the differences between true and false, right and wrong, virtue and vice, to what better principle can the friends of mankind apply than to the sense of this difference?”
John Adams.
