World Economic Forum – Part 3

What is unethical about Davos Man?

Davos Man is not disguised as a self-interest or status-seeking decadent association. There is something deeper, something at the very heart of the organization that should concern all. Even if suspicions are completely shielded, there is something inveterately flawed about the group, and that is Davos Man is built around a liability.

The group seems to be a cult like association, complete with the idea that rising to the top of the global political and financial hierarchies infers an expertise in all things worldly. This arrogant confidence in individual members, who have been successful in business, politics, or global bureaucracies, who believe they, and they alone, can bring about a better world, is baseless. Why?

There’s no evidence to support the belief that rising to the top of the global political and financial hierarchies assumes an expertism. To put it bluntly, the belief that this group of elites are indeed experts and effective in solving the ills of the societies throughout the world, is a shared chimera, simply because the necessary knowledge needed to support their ideal does not exist. Not one individual, or group of individuals, has the necessary competence Davos Man imagines, because none of the members has the kind of knowledge required to control the level of power required. Why? Eventually, their egos will conflict with each other, and so too their ideal’s interpretation.

The greatest concern about Davos Man is not their security of fortune, social significance, and power. It is their mythology that lionizes their personal qualities as great thinkers. Thinkers that have mistakenly convinced themselves that being the primary beneficiaries of global affluence and government permanency, gives them the right to restrict the independence, freedom, and happiness, of those who value them. The People.
