Political Corruption – Part 3
Why is there so much corruption in government?
Within any government, corruption can be found, and the only approach that can minimize the level of political malfeasance is: One, cut the amount of spending they use for their own benefit, with follow-on tax cuts, and two, a Constitutional Amendment to place term limits on all incumbents and candidates. The action is the only way to resolve this problem – to stop giving the politicians the money and power they too often abuse. Anything short of this will not end the madness, for less meaningful steps will do nothing more than create an illusion that something was done, but in reality, nothing was accomplished, which will further disappoint and demoralized the American People.
Since the beginning of organized government, society has become familiar with politicians who are immoral or unethical. By nature, individuals are fallible, and as such, individuals, especially those given unmerited power and capital, will not manage it with integrity. America’s founders understood this back in 1776 and 1787 far better than anyone today.
But governments are needed. A federal government is needed help a county, or state recover from a natural disaster. Local and state governments are needed to enforce contracts, punish theft, fraud, and criminal violence. To do this, governments need money, but not in the amounts seen today.
During the past two decades, the federal government began to grow uncontrollably, so much so, it now seeks to do more, including seizing certain authorities from individual states – authorities granted by the Tenth Amendment, in order to centralize more power in Washington. How can this be?
As the People surrender more and more unlimited and undefined power to the federal government, they will eventually become slaves to an authoritarian class of corrupt and depraved elite.
